Miles for Smiles was launched through the Scotsman today. I’m very grateful to John McLellan for giving the event such a large and detailed spread in the Scotsman, to Claire Black for talking to me while I was getting my hair done (!) and to Ian Rutherford for managing to take a flattering photo.

Someone asked me what I meant by “launching” Miles for Smiles and I had to agree that it’s a bit of a grand word for having an announcement made! I guess the significance is that there’s no going back now and there are just over three months to go. That’s exciting and scary at the same time.

The sale of tables for the Miles for Smiles ball has been going quite well so my main aim now has to be to engage as many people as possible in the 500 miles Challenge – and to get them actually to sign up!
