The photos for the launch of Miles for Smiles took place on Friday afternoon in preparation for Miles for Smiles being launched in the Scotsman tomorrow. Many thanks to the EICC for letting me use the venue for this.
The plan was to give an idea of the variety of ways that a mile can be completed so we had Stephanie Douglas’s cheerleaders doing the splits and “scorpions”, Calum Watson and Alexander Middleton from George Watson College as piper and drummer, Shona Black from South Eastern Guide Dogs and her guide dog, Murray, Athena Buchan and Catriona McEwan and some of their friends from Fettes with various playground toys including a pogo stick, a tractor and a space hopper.
I was very grateful to Calum and Alexander for playing their pipes and drum. It helped to distract us on what was a very cold June day – I think you can tell from the photo!
We also had lots of green, white and blue balloons and Miles for Smiles T-shirts courtesy of Elizabeth Buchan. Thanks too to Lindsay Robertson, Adrienne Ferguson and Susan Dalgety for their support!
