I went for a catch up with Fred at the BBC in Glasgow. Fred was the compere for the only other ball I have organised – back in 2004. He was such a good friend through that experience and did such a professional job that I didn’t look anywhere else this time. We were going over my first draft of the running order for the evening and trying to keep it simple and fun. I am hoping that one or two of Fred’s celebrity friends might make an appearance at the ball and in the 500 miles Challenge.
And then there is the matter of Fred’s mile….
Fred was looking very healthy and suntanned from being in Marrakech and I took that in my stride but I did do a double take when I saw him leave the building a few minutes after we said goodbye – in full motor cycle gear!
