Time for tea!

Alexander McCall Smith very kindly introduced me to Henrietta Lovell who owns The Rare Tea Company (www.rareteacompany.com). Sandy told me about Henrietta and her rare tea business because he named the new black tea which The Rare Tea Company is about to import from Malawi into the UK - Lost Malawi Tea. He has also written a collection of short stories to go inside the tins of Lost Malawi tea.

Originally we had thought that Henrietta might donate a raffle prize of some Lost Malawi Tea - but then we decided that it would be much better to serve it at the ball to reinforce the slightly African theme to the meal – see my blog of 17 August below. I also plan to serve Malawian coffee at the ball – probably from The Coffee Project (www.thecoffeeproject.org.uk).

Since Lost Malawi Tea will not actually arrive in the UK until later this autumn, Henrietta has had to arrange for a special advance package to be sent for the ball! She has also been in discussion with Leith’s at the EICC about how to serve Lost Malawi tea to perfection! Thank you very much Henrietta.
